design star stripes

This isn't a great photo but it captures the idea of the large tonal stripes on the walls that I loved from the last episode of design star. So who's it gonna be?! Totally Jennifer.

seating for three

A smart and pretty solution if you're short on space. Seating for three with a lovely view of lots of pretty white orchids--which make the table look like it's meant to be there. From style files.

colorful spots

All of our favorite colors for the summer: white, blue, green and red. And I love the art on the wall--whimsical, modern and colorful. pictures from the selby.

sliding doors

I always think it's nice to have a space set off from the main family/entertaining area where people can go to have a quiet conversation or read and yet still be close to the action. These sliding doors I saw at furniture store blog are perfect for that. They are light and slightly see through and different than the usual french doors (although I love those too.)

cupcakes for a piggy party

a little something for the grown ups and a little something for the kids. . .

bicycle baskets

So super adorable on a bike. But they are so cute, I can think of many other uses for them too, such as toy baskets in the playroom (a few mounted on the wall or sitting on book shelves--sans strap) or for all of your gardening supplies or . . .

a little france

I appreciate almost all architectural looks, but this is my favorite architectural style. And the walled garden with the turquoise details is stunning. Pictures from carolyne roehm.

on a midsummer's eve

a party like this would be so lovely. . .

mouldings

Look at the ceiling and the fireplace mantle. So pretty. Especially with the big black and white picture sitting there.

a summer centerpiece

What a simply beautiful idea for a window box or centerpiece. You could line the middle of your summer table with several of these cans of flowers. Brought to you from the camera of la porte rouge. The photography of this blog is gorgeous.

love nest

I'm thinking that little nest is a really cute idea for easter baskets or even valentine's day next year. These images are from a wedding posted at snippet and ink. The nests were at each place setting. They would also be cute favors to go along with this invitation I posted a while back. Love the bird cages as centerpieces. I always love inventive centerpieces.
