pillow talk.

One thing you should know...I am an ardent lover of pillows!  Almost always, I prefer sofas and loveseats to be in neutral fabrics and colors, but pillows...

Now pillows are another story.

Please, anything but neutral!

Throw pillows are the perfect way to bring color and pattern into any space--the bedroom, the family room, the kitchen and home office (on chair cushions.)

And in a few years, when you're ready for a new color scheme, it is so much easier to update pillows than updating large pieces of furniture.  So be bold!  Embrace the colors and patterns you love right now, by placing a few beautiful pillows around your homes.

lots of ruffles.

i always love the fresh vivid colors of the collections from india rose. and i especially love all the ruffles on this latest line!

the perfect nursery.

this room makes me swoon. designed by photographer ashley ann for her newborn daughter. i love every single thing in it. that rocking chair i have been seeing in a couple of my magazines and love it--the best price i've found on it is from land of nod.

studio bon

I need to get diligent about posting all my finds here again. My baskets and desktop are overflowing! Here are some of my favorites from studio bon--I adore this textile company!

I would love to design some childrens rooms around these two!

Kitchen Rugs

Some quick kitchen rug options: the top two are from Pottery Barn and the bottom one is from Crate & Barrel (bonus: it comes in 8x8). Why aren't more rugs made in square sizes?

Happy Red

I love rooms built into the roof lines. The photo is from heather ives photography. I love seeing all of the creative photography out there. I would build a room like this around that photograph.

Light & Airy

I am in the mood for light and airy and found these two things from pottery barn as I was looking for a new rug for my family room. I think I'm going to go with this very neutral jute look. It's such a good foundation to work from . . . and most important it's not rust colored. And I like this pendant light. Probably because I love grid patterns.

More Yellow

I guess I should have included this with my last post. But being organized is over rated. I totally take that back. Because being organized is what I yearn for. (That is after all, the primary purpose of this blog.)
Fabrics from textile designer joel dewberry.

And it was all yellow

Little bursts of yellow make me smile. . . and so does Coldplay.

1. photo by jim cooper 2. photo by scarboro (not sure of first name on that one)

The floor looks turquoise to me in this first photo, which is intriguing. I probably wouldn't do it in my house, but I would like it if I saw it in someone else's house . . . Mostly, I like lots of white, some turquoise and a little yellow. I especially like the vintage looking fabric on the chair and the simple molding on the staged blue wall.

Now doesn't this look like a nice place to relax . . .

World Traveler

I like this map for a children's room or a very large wall. I would probably need to make the frame myself because having it framed would cost a fortune.

I saw this posted at oh happy day. It's from the house of a friend of hers--they stick a pin in each place they have been. I would find it very satisfying to do that. It's like checking off a list and you know how I love lists. I would get (or make) some really cute pins to stick in the map. Available for $99 from National Geographic.

Pillow is from Williams Sonoma Home and it is WAY too much, plus it's silk and that just would not fly in my house. I'm banking you could find a similarly patterned fabric.
